EMS & Hangang River Cycling!

Today i mailed my parcel of summer clothes and shoes back home. it was around 5.5kg! Initially i wanted to buy the box and then bring back to my room to pack as i thought that they would help me make the box but it turned out that i have to tape the bottom of the box on my own so i changed my mind. I went back to my room and brought all my plastic bags to the post office near my goshiwon, cuz there is a Post Office near SNU station.

I had the choice between air parcel, land parcel and EMS.
For land parcel, it was very cheap, but it will take 2-3months. ( around 15200won)
For air parcel, it was around 30,200won but it will take 2-3weeks.
For EMS, it was around 35,500won but it will take only 3-5days.

If you want to know the details, check this Korea Post website, click HERE!

I chose EMS in the end cuz it was relatively much cheaper as compared to mailing parcel from singapore.
Previously i mailed only 3 pieces of paper via EMS, 3-5 days, and it cost SGD25. DAMN EX!

Review: I spoke english at the Post office and the officer on duty was very helpful! he advised me on the size of the box to purchase and told me that if its too small, i could change it for a bigger one. Then he helped me to tape the box(i think thats because he could tell i was a newbie), the service was super good.

Directions: Near SNU station exit 8.Walk out of exit 8, and walk straight ahead. It should be on your left. The Post office is opposite Daiso.

After mailing my parcel, i went to meet Shirley, Joyce and Nadya to have lunch and go for cycling at the Han River. I regretted not planning to cycle at han river earlier when it was warmer but thankfully, it wasnt too cold today. The weather was fine.

We took the metro and alighted at Yeouido, but we realised that we had to walk all the way to Yeouinaru Station to get to the River. We saw a few cyclists and as we were wondering where to rent the bike. We tried to get the attention of the cyclists.

I was like,' Jeogiyo!' to the nearest cyclist. The cyclist turned his head then cycled away. So paiseh lor, Joyce and the rest were laughing . I should have used my aegyo >.< Kidding, i dont have aegyo and also dont know how to do aegyo.

But after walking for sometime we found a bicycle rental and we rented couple bikes, 6000won per hour.
its 3000won per hour for single bike!
But we cycled for around 30mins at most before we returned the bikes as we had to catch a 4D movie,' Hunger Games' at Sinchon CGV cinema.
my super big head photos: (from left)me, joyce, shirley, nadya
and while cycling, we spotted some filming! although we couldnt see which celebrity it was cuz it was too far away and we din have enough time!
i looked like i have no neck when donned in my winter wear

Review:
It is a really nice place to cycle , i intend to cycle again and longer if the weather is good. Best to cycle in autumn and not during winter. Today was a rather warm winter day though, surprisingly.

Yeouinaru Station ( check the directions in the subway to find out which exit number to take!)
If you want free bicycles rental, can try Jamsil Station. Click HERE for more information on the bicycle Kiosks!

Initially i thought that for 4D movie, you will feel the sway of the chair a lot but in the end, it was very subtle effect. THe Hunger Games movie was very sadistic. Everyone killing each other. I din dare when they were finishing each other off. I dont understand why it is so popular. Maybe because the actors and actresses were popular?

Review: 3/5
I dont think ill watch hunger games sequels. Its too sadistic. It was supposed to be 4D, but the screen wasnt 3D at all, CGV Sinchon why you cheat me of my money?!? Maybe ill watch some more 4D movies, perhaps that will change my impression. On the bright side, perhaps the subtle 4D effect is that they dont wanna cause any injury to us, so that we could watch the movie in peace.

We went to Hongdae for dinner and we passed by a performance. Dont know which artistes they are though but here are some snapshots! I must say, Hongdae is the place where i always see celebrities. Lee Hyun Woo. F(x), filming sites, gosh, i love hongdae!
 Thats all for today!

Fireworks at Hangang Park Festival Night

We had our dinner in Myeongdong. Going for non-korean food. Becci recommended us this restaurant and oh boy, the food was really delicious!
we ordered 1 pasta and 2 pizzas. But it was so big that we couldnt finish it!
Ratings:5/5

Review:
Very filling and big and delicious pizzas. The pasta is also very good. Very tasty but also the type of taste whereby you wont get bored of the taste. As for price range, its on the high side like 11-18k won per pizza. Not as cheap as pizzaschool. I cant remember what we ordered so i kinda went online to research for the menu and piece together the information of the food that we ordered. Hehe cuz i cldnt recall at all, I asked Becci if she could , luckily she remembered the keywords of the pizza and pasta names.

For our pizza: Basic Instinct, Extra Margharita(14000won??) and Everyone Loves Gorgonzola (17000won)

For our Pasta : Dramatic Twist, Crema Gamberi 14500won (spicy)

Directions: Sorry i dont have the directions, key in 중구 충무로1가 22-2, Seoul, Korea into your smartphones or look for the tourist guides(staff in red) at myeongdong. They will be able to direct you. The restaurant is at the basement.

Thinking that we have more than enough time to arrive at the hangang park, we shopped quite a bit at myeongdong and left around 7.30pm But then, we didnt know that there would be such a big crowd at the Yeouinaru Station. We were stuck in it for at least an hour. I was able to escape from the station earlier than them since i could squeeze my way through. Funsize FTW!
We were rather unlucky, because we came too late so we were caught in the human jam. As a result, we only caught 10seconds of the fireworks. A measly 10 seconds. Not even good view.
I didnt know that it was such a large scale event and there were so many people.

Lesson learnt: should have gone there early to camp.

Jen and her friends went early like 4pm to camp so she managed to get good view.

Hangang River at night

just a short post for today!

Had our buddy group outing at Hangang River.  It was a little chilly even when I wore long sleeved top. Our korean buddies ordered chicken and beer for our picnic . It was endorsed by Sistar, I think...not too sure. They call it chimaek. A combination of chicken and맥주(beer). It was rather windy and the Banpo bridge was gorgeous with its lightings. I came here before last year around july but in the day so all I saw was just the water spraying out from the bridge. But tonight, I saw both ^^

buddies helping to distribute the chicken and beer and softdrinks

collage, so as not to bore you guys out. yuni, kaela jen and i  ^^
